About

The Property

Affectionately named "The Woodlands," our five acre property is nestled among lush redwoods and firs in the quaint, welcoming town of Guerneville, California. Based on what we've researched, the area lies in the historic territory of the Southern Pomo, Kashaya Pomo, and Federated Indians of Graton Rancheria. The Pomo traditionally used the area as a summer camp and called it "Ceola" or "shady place," owing to the vast, towering stands of old-growth forests that once covered the region.

Despite a history of colonization and forced displacement by the U.S. government, Indigenous people still call Sonoma and the surrounding counties of the North Bay home. We acknowledge and honor their history and traditions as the original stewards of this land.

In addition to the therapy office and adjacent buildings, the Woodlands property has garden and orchard space surrounded by forested canyons of redwood, Douglas firs, bay laurel, and maple. If you are lucky enough (and quiet), you may even spot black-tailed deer, gray fox, raven, California quail, garter snake or any of the other wildlife that share our land.
